After a slight delay of rescheduling due to weather, the 2008 Outdoor Skills Challenge (O.S.C.) was officially held on May 9-10, 2008 on private land off of FM 1462 outside of Alvin. It's a beautiful setting with the Chocolate Bayou running through it for great fishing. Classes were held for the following subjects:
Campsite selection & set-up
Campfire Cooking
Marksmanship (rifle)
Archery, (compound & recurve)
Navigation
Survival & field first-aide
Basic fishing
The weather was outstanding, and we had a great time with getting to know each other a little more, outdoor education and fun. We also spent time in a few campfire sessions. Stay tuned for our next O.S.C.!
