Omar Garcia

Omar Garcia was born in Houston and grew up in the Rosenberg area.  His family was active in Christian ministry, so Omar was introduced to the love of Christ at a very early age.  He gave his life to Jesus while watching a television evangelist when he was nine years old.  The Lord is Omar’s first love, but while growing up, baseball was definitely his second passion.  He aspired to play professional baseball and serve God as a team chaplain and baseball evangelist, but God removed that path and passion through a terrible baseball injury during his senior year of high school.  From there, God made it clear to Omar that his life work was to be in ministry.  Omar has served in churches and ministries in the Houston, Palacios, and Fort Worth areas since 2001.  God called him to Pearland at the end of 2017, and he and his family have called FBC Pearland home since January 2018.

Omar’s family is full of energy and excitement.  He and his wife, Vicki, were married in 2004, and have five sons.  They are privileged to have a front-row seat to every educational ministry of our church, from preschool to the youth group!  As a family, they love playing and watching sports, jamming to the latest Christian artists, and hanging out in their neighborhood.

At FBC Pearland, Omar oversees the worship ministry through worship on Sunday mornings and leading our awesome worship team and AVL ministries.  He is also blessed to use his love for sharing the Gospel through leading the emerging evangelism ministry, encouraging each of our members to put their faith into action by making disciples.
